Women Lift Weight Too!

For Women wanting to get involved in the fitness industry, it can be difficult to choose what to compete in. Women can choose either to be a female bodybuilder or a fitness competitor. Now some women can make this choice a little easier than others because of their body type, but for many women both are options.
Ladies,  it is not weird to enjoy being in the gym because it is no longer a guy’s game. Women obviously look better than men and they have a competitive spirit. For women in the industry, becoming a fitness model and/or Bodybuilder, things have really changed. Unlike the 80’s where women began to look like men, women today keep their figure while adding hard earned muscle to their frame. In fact many guys are looking for women who have muscle tone. The times are changing women and it’s time to get with it.

This article will discuss the two types and how the routines differ and what style might suite certain women better than others.

Female Bodybuilders:

If you enjoy having a six pack, strong shoulders, and firm defined legs than bodybuilding might be the choice for you. Women Bodybuilders workouts tend to be higher weight and lower repetitions. They are a little freer about their eating habits and walk to do cardio.
Bodybuilders focus more on the proper flexing and transitions between muscle groups during competitions.

Fitness Competitors:

Female Fitness Competitors are usually what you will see on magazine covers. They are defined in muscle yet leaner than they are chiseled. Fitness competitors have thin tummies but are not too concerned about having a six pack.

Fitness Competitors are typically more athletic than Natural Bodybuilders. During competitions they have more of a dance routine than just flexing. These routines usually involve some kind of gymnastics.
